About Mattie

A unique combination of educational, clinical and personal experiences have prepared Mattie to work with a wide variety of patients and treatment modalities. Her belief is that each person does the best he or she can do at any given moment of time in life.

 

Both Nursing and Counseling degrees plus years of experience have prepared Mattie to treat her clients holistically.  She uses mind-body integrative skills such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Trauma-focused Body Therapy, Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems. She particularly specializes in using neuroplastic principles to help reverse the brain disorder that develops in everyone suffering from chronic pain. Your customized counseling experience will be positive, warm and personal.  

 

Change is difficult for everyone and a skilled therapist can help you to identify the change that you want to make and assist you in getting there. Mattie has worked with clients from birth to the end-of-life experience. Whether you want to heal from early childhood traumas, lifelong depression, or panic or mood disorders, Mattie will provide that safe, confidential place where you can explore your internal world and external relationships. She confidently believes that everyone is capable of change, growth and healing. She is willing to take those steps of courage alongside you.

 

Mattie is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association of Play Therapists (APT).
